Testo (Lezione 39, esercizio 7 del foglio). Calcolare
∫ log x d x , ∫ arcsin x d x , ∫ arctan x d x \int \log x\,dx, \qquad \int \arcsin x\,dx, \qquad \int \arctan x\,dx ∫ log x d x , ∫ arcsin x d x , ∫ arctan x d x
Nessuno dei tre è un integrale immediato, e non c'è una sostituzione evidente. Si usa l'integrazione per partiL'integrale di f·g' è f·g meno l'integrale di f'·g.Integrazione per parti → con il trucco "per 1 1 1 ": f f f = la funzione data (la sua derivata è semplice), g ′ = 1 g' = 1 g ′ = 1 , g = x g = x g = x .
(a) ∫ log x d x \int \log x\,dx ∫ log x d x (per x > 0 x > 0 x > 0 )
f = log x f = \log x f = log x , g ′ = 1 g' = 1 g ′ = 1 ⇒ \Rightarrow ⇒ f ′ = 1 x f' = \frac1x f ′ = x 1 , g = x g = x g = x :
∫ log x ⋅ 1 d x = log x ⋅ x − ∫ 1 x ⋅ x d x = x log x − ∫ 1 d x = x log x − x + k = x ( log x − 1 ) + k \int \log x \cdot 1\,dx = \log x \cdot x - \int \frac1x \cdot x\,dx = x\log x - \int 1\,dx = x\log x - x + k = x(\log x - 1) + k ∫ log x ⋅ 1 d x = log x ⋅ x − ∫ x 1 ⋅ x d x = x log x − ∫ 1 d x = x log x − x + k = x ( log x − 1 ) + k
Controllo. D [ x log x − x ] = log x + x ⋅ 1 x − 1 = log x D[x\log x - x] = \log x + x \cdot \frac1x - 1 = \log x D [ x log x − x ] = log x + x ⋅ x 1 − 1 = log x ✓.
(b) ∫ arcsin x d x \int \arcsin x\,dx ∫ arcsin x d x (per − 1 < x < 1 -1 < x < 1 − 1 < x < 1 )
f = arcsin x f = \arcsin x f = arcsin x , g ′ = 1 g' = 1 g ′ = 1 ⇒ \Rightarrow ⇒ f ′ = 1 1 − x 2 f' = \frac{1}{\sqrt{1 - x^2}} f ′ = 1 − x 2 1 , g = x g = x g = x :
∫ arcsin x ⋅ 1 d x = x arcsin x − ∫ x 1 − x 2 d x \int \arcsin x \cdot 1\,dx = x\arcsin x - \int \frac{x}{\sqrt{1 - x^2}}\,dx ∫ arcsin x ⋅ 1 d x = x arcsin x − ∫ 1 − x 2 x d x
L'integrale rimasto si fa per sostituzione. La funzione interna è 1 − x 2 1 - x^2 1 − x 2 , con derivata − 2 x -2x − 2 x : al numeratore c'è x x x , manca la costante − 2 -2 − 2 . Si moltiplica e divide per − 2 -2 − 2 , e si pone y = 1 − x 2 y = 1 - x^2 y = 1 − x 2 , d y = − 2 x d x dy = -2x\,dx d y = − 2 x d x :
∫ x 1 − x 2 d x = − 1 2 ∫ − 2 x 1 − x 2 d x = − 1 2 ∫ y − 1 / 2 d y = − 1 2 ⋅ y 1 / 2 1 / 2 + k = − y + k = − 1 − x 2 + k \int \frac{x}{\sqrt{1 - x^2}}\,dx = -\frac12\int \frac{-2x}{\sqrt{1 - x^2}}\,dx = -\frac12\int y^{-1/2}\,dy = -\frac12 \cdot \frac{y^{1/2}}{1/2} + k = -\sqrt{y} + k = -\sqrt{1 - x^2} + k ∫ 1 − x 2 x d x = − 2 1 ∫ 1 − x 2 − 2 x d x = − 2 1 ∫ y − 1/2 d y = − 2 1 ⋅ 1/2 y 1/2 + k = − y + k = − 1 − x 2 + k
Quindi
∫ arcsin x d x = x arcsin x − ( − 1 − x 2 ) + k = x arcsin x + 1 − x 2 + k \int \arcsin x\,dx = x\arcsin x - \left(-\sqrt{1 - x^2}\right) + k = x\arcsin x + \sqrt{1 - x^2} + k ∫ arcsin x d x = x arcsin x − ( − 1 − x 2 ) + k = x arcsin x + 1 − x 2 + k
Controllo. D [ x arcsin x + 1 − x 2 ] = arcsin x + x 1 − x 2 + − 2 x 2 1 − x 2 = arcsin x D\left[x\arcsin x + \sqrt{1 - x^2}\right] = \arcsin x + \frac{x}{\sqrt{1-x^2}} + \frac{-2x}{2\sqrt{1 - x^2}} = \arcsin x D [ x arcsin x + 1 − x 2 ] = arcsin x + 1 − x 2 x + 2 1 − x 2 − 2 x = arcsin x ✓.
(c) ∫ arctan x d x \int \arctan x\,dx ∫ arctan x d x
f = arctan x f = \arctan x f = arctan x , g ′ = 1 g' = 1 g ′ = 1 ⇒ \Rightarrow ⇒ f ′ = 1 1 + x 2 f' = \frac{1}{1 + x^2} f ′ = 1 + x 2 1 , g = x g = x g = x :
∫ arctan x ⋅ 1 d x = x arctan x − ∫ x 1 + x 2 d x \int \arctan x \cdot 1\,dx = x\arctan x - \int \frac{x}{1 + x^2}\,dx ∫ arctan x ⋅ 1 d x = x arctan x − ∫ 1 + x 2 x d x
L'integrale rimasto è del tipo f ′ f \frac{f'}{f} f f ′ a meno della costante 2 2 2 (la derivata di 1 + x 2 1 + x^2 1 + x 2 è 2 x 2x 2 x ):
∫ x 1 + x 2 d x = 1 2 ∫ 2 x 1 + x 2 d x = 1 2 log ( 1 + x 2 ) + k \int \frac{x}{1 + x^2}\,dx = \frac12\int \frac{2x}{1 + x^2}\,dx = \frac12\log(1 + x^2) + k ∫ 1 + x 2 x d x = 2 1 ∫ 1 + x 2 2 x d x = 2 1 log ( 1 + x 2 ) + k
(senza modulo, perché 1 + x 2 > 0 1 + x^2 > 0 1 + x 2 > 0 ). Quindi
∫ arctan x d x = x arctan x − 1 2 log ( 1 + x 2 ) + k \int \arctan x\,dx = x\arctan x - \frac12\log(1 + x^2) + k ∫ arctan x d x = x arctan x − 2 1 log ( 1 + x 2 ) + k
Perché proprio questa scelta
Derivando, log x \log x log x , arcsin x \arcsin x arcsin x , arctan x \arctan x arctan x diventano funzioni algebriche (1 x \frac1x x 1 , 1 1 − x 2 \frac{1}{\sqrt{1-x^2}} 1 − x 2 1 , 1 1 + x 2 \frac{1}{1+x^2} 1 + x 2 1 ), che moltiplicate per g = x g = x g = x danno integrali facili. La scelta opposta (f = 1 f = 1 f = 1 , g ′ = log x g' = \log x g ′ = log x ) richiederebbe di conoscere già la primitiva di log x \log x log x , cioè proprio quello che si sta cercando.
